The East Coast Organization of Language Testers (ECOLT) is pleased to be presenting its fall conference jointly with the Consortium on Useful Assessment in Languages and Humanities Education (CUALHE).

The joint conference will be held Friday, September 13 and Saturday, September 14, 2019, at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Please see below for further details. Information will be updated as it becomes available. Registration information for the conference is available here.

2019 ANNUAL CONVENTION AND WORLD LANGUAGES EXPO

The ACTFL Annual Convention and World Languages Expo is where language educators from around the world come to meet! This global event brings together more than 8,000 language educators from all languages, levels, and assignments. Our goal is to provide a comprehensive professional development experience that will have an impact on language educators at all levels of teaching and in turn help their students to succeed in their language learning process.

WATESOL provides a professional community at the intersection of the DC Metropolitan area.  Our members hail from districts and counties within Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.  Our membership includes English language educators, program administrators, pre-service teachers, graduate students, and other language professionals in the areas of K-12 Education, Adult Education, Higher Education, language education research, and program administration, among others.  WATESOL members truly represent the diversity of the TESOL community in the DC Metropolitan Area.  

WATESOL was established in 1970 with 34 charter members.  Today, WATESOL is a successful nonprofit association with nearly 400 members.

La Cosecha is the largest dual language conference in the country and in 2018 had 3,009 total participants representing 39 states, Washington, DC, 19 Sovereign Tribal Nations and 9 countries.

La Cosecha 2019 will bring together educators, parents, researchers and practitioners supporting dual language enrichment programs from across the U.S.  La Cosecha Conference offers you the unique opportunity to share best practices and resources, current theory and practice,  build networks, and fuel our community’s efforts to build a better future for our children as we “harvest” the best of our multilingual and multicultural communities.

WIDA National Conference 2019

The WIDA Annual Conference is the premier event for educators of preK-12 multilingual learners, bringing together educators from around the globe to network, share best practices, and discover innovative classroom strategies. Educators from around the country submit session proposals, which are reviewed and selected by a panel of internal and external reviewers. Sessions examine research-based strategies and instructional practices on topics that align to the conference theme and are designed and delivered in an engaging format.
